- 1st – Negative1 w/ Phantom Strategy Phantom Knights: The old style of Phantom Knights. 3x Cosmic Cyclone has replaced MST in this deck. This deck also runs interesting side deck cards with Magical Spring and Xyz Universe.
- 2nd – Vhypir w/ Mind of the Plana Burning Abyss: This deck is still somehow not on the power rankings, combining Rank 3 Xyz with discard effects, and powerful discard traps.
- Top 4 – Lsune w/ Mind of the Plana Burning Abyss: Same deck as 2nd place.
- Top 4 – Bixie w/ Phantom Strategy Phantom Knights: Again, we see a shift to Cosmic Cyclone over MST.
DLM Freekly #144
- 1st – ZaGaZaGa w/ Determination to Fight Gandora: The deck continues to evolve with the addition of many machine cards. There is suddenly an Earth Machine component with 2x Infinitrack Anchor Drill, 1x Ancient Gear Box, 3x Ancient Gear Wyvern and 1x Nishipachi. There’s also a Wind Machine in 2x Starship Spy Plane.
- 2nd – Mugiwara w/ Phantom Strategy Phantom Knights: This deck leans heavier on the monster control back row in 3x Book of Moon, 2x ECon and 2x FGTH.
- Top 4 – Vhypir w/ Mind of Plana Burning Abyss: This deck still going strong in the current meta format.

– [0:19:50] Bonds Beyond Time: Paradox Appears
- Fiendish Portrait: This is pretty much only usable in a tournament situation with a predominant deck that you can mirror match. Or there is some OP monster that is usable in every single deck. Almost all of the time, this card won’t be eligible to activate, which makes it an all-time bad card.
- Loud Cloud the Storm Serpent: This card gets points for being unique I guess. This is a GY mill type card, not unlike Lightsworns. However, this strategy involves the milling of Fire and Wind attribute monsters, while this itself is Water attribute. This card comes in as a special summon with a 0/2000 statline. You can do more control shenanigans by banishing Fire and Wind monsters from your GY some more for some powerful effects.
– [0:23:57] Duelist Chronicles 5D’s
- Dark Highlander: A level 7 Fiend Synchro made entirely of Fiend parts, so that will limit play in Duel Links to Resonators. This does prevent further Synchro Summoning, which has some appeal, but just like for the Meklord monsters, we are past the point where decks are only using Synchro Summoning. The anti-equip effect is another tech usage, and can even be negated by Red-Eyes Slash Dragon.
- Granel Top: These Meklord part monsters literally never see any play.
- Meklord Refinement (skill): This isn’t a bad skill at all. The first activation will have you send a Meklord to the GY to tutor a Meklord spell/trap. The second activation will have you send a Meklord to the GY to tutor any Meklord card or obtain the unobtainable Meklord Astro the Eradicator trap card. While you will need to wait a turn to pass and dodge set MSTs, this can special summon 3 Meklords from the GY, and provide a GY banish to destroy and enemy Synchro monster. This is easily the best Meklord-related Duel Skill, yet still do nothing in making the deck meta in any way.
