[0:03:11]: This Week in Esports

Special shoutout to GrandHarrier (https://www.twitch.tv/grandharrier/) , who hosts Duel Links Grand Prix!

[0:10:15] Duel Links Meta Power Rankings

  • Tier 1: Orcust (25.7), Speedroid (19.1), Odd-Eyes (17.9)
  • Tier 2: Rokket (9.8)
  • Tier 3: Trickstar (6.8)
  • Off List:

[0:11:17] The Last Survivor of Mankind: Z-one!

  • Time Angel: A card possibly too powerful for the physical card game, this has a fairly strong ability in bouncing all monsters back to the hand. This must be destroyed by battle though, and you will presumably be taking damage, without any traps being played. You likely need to throw in some traps and other things, but all things considered, this is an auto play for stall decks. It is also possible you’ll see this splashed into other decks as a form of removal for some tough monsters.
  • Empress’s Staff: Similar to Negate Attack, but it inflicts a little burn, doesn’t automatically end the battle phase, and can be activated from the hand situationally. You’ll probably always want to activate this from the hand, to allow for more back row play, and prevent this from getting destroyed.
  • Born from the Infinite (Duel Skill): Basically send a Timelord from hand to GY, and tutor one from the deck with a different attribute. A fine skill and not overpowered for Timelords.

[0:16:59] Mission Circuit

  • Fairy Box: Joey the Passion is back! This was a pretty powerful stall card in earlier formats, and one that sometimes led to errant attacks that swung the game the other way. Presumably there will just be one copy of this card around for now, which is enough. This type of card would be infinite in a life gain deck like Aromages, but fits better in a regular stall deck, or one even more focused on burn strategies.

[0:20:53] Card Trader Update

  • Performapal Fireflux (Limited 1): The fitting theme for this week is stall, and this as a Pendulum Scale has that effect, basically a Negate Attack after you tribute a Performapal monster. As a regular monster, this gives your Performapal or Odd-Eyes cards the ability to bypass the back row when attacking. The Pendulum 5 Scale isn’t amazing, but works well enough for low level Performapal monsters I guess. Not an auto-play by any means.

[0:23:50] Skill Changes

  • Holly Angel Trick
  • Master of Rites II
  • Red-Eyes Roulette
  • ZEXAL – Ultimate Unite
