– [0:12:34] New Bundle
- Draco Berserker of the Tenyi: Well there’s a new extra deck top dog in Duel Links. This is limited 1, but a generic level 8 for any deck to use. A quick effect banish when your opponent triggers a monster effect. Then this card can go pretty much OTK after destroying an opponent’s effect monster. The chances that you’ll run into a non-effect monster at this point in the game is pretty small, so this is good for an OTK.

UR/SRs
- Number C39: Utopia Ray V: While you can do a generic Rank 5 Xyz, this is meant for a Rank-Up-Magic on one of the Rank 4 Utopia monsters. General control and burn monster, a generally useful play for the extra deck. The weakness of course is that you must run Utopia in the deck for this to be worth it at all.
- Tenyi Spirit – Ashuna: One of the chase cards in this set to build a real Tenyi Swordsoul deck. The strength of the deck are Synchro monsters, and this is basically a free special summon with 7 stars for the Synchro summon. There is a lot of synergy with Monk of the Tenyi, who is a non-Effect Link monster, which allows this to special summon, or trigger the effect.
- Black Luster Soldier – Legendary Swordsman: While a Ritual monster, this comes with a self-ability to “Draw Sense” the Ritual spell, which negates all the negatives that come with Rituals. This BLS does have a flashy ability of returning all your opponents cards back to the deck, but that is assuming you get by the back row. This card can be stopped before the battle phase, so it is up to your opponent’s discretion to get rid of this card before the battle phase begins.
- Generation Force: This card tutors any number of generic “Xyz” cards. The newly released Xyz Import should work well with this in a package.
- Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer: This is a generic Rank 4 Xyz, who can detach 1 to flip a monster face down, or detach 2 to bounce any face up card back to the deck. Just a solid card for controlling the board, but the Rank 4 Xyz monster slot is tough to crack with so many good choices now.
- Comic Hand: This is pretty good for Toons. This steals an opponent monster for an Equip slot, and then it can attack directly. Best used as removal on a tough monster, or just to use as material.
- Monk of the Tenyi: Nothing flashy with a Link-1 1000 attacker with no effect, but it has synergy with the archetype. Typically this is your go-to to extend your turn into higher level Link monsters.
- Number C106: Giant Red Hand: This seemingly has a quick effect to negate all other effects on the field. Pretty flexible to use a Rank-Up-Magic on any Number Xyz monster.
- Shaman of the Tenyi: This is the next Link after the Monk, and the ability can let you immediately jump to a higher level Link monster. You should try to discard for a positive effect in your GY as well.
- Tenyi Spirit – Vishuda: Another chase card Level 7 Tenyi. Free special summon, and has an extra control ability in the GY to bounce an opponent card back to the hand.
- Toon Bookmark: This tutors Toon World or any synergistic card, and provides extra GY protection if any card were to be destroyed.
- Toon Black Luster Soldier: This toon either attacks directly for 3000, or can banish a card on the field. Seems pretty good if you want to be a normal direct attack strategy or need to control something on the board.
- V Salamander: While these Utopia equipment monsters are tough to pull off, this one does come with an explosive ability to negate an effect, destroy all opponent monsters, and burn. Could Utopia be a new meta deck?
– [0:37:36] New Lifetime Missions
- Order of Chaos: This looks like a really good skill. While you’re limiting your deck build to only level/rank 4, there are plenty of good cards to fill the deck. This is an easy way to get out Utopia Ray V
- Toonvitation: Another really good one! You can basically normal summon your high level Toons without tributes now. This skill also allows you to not run Toon World in the deck, and obtain that from outside the deck.
- The Soul of Light and Darkness: A 3rd OP skill. When you successfully do the Ritual Summon, you can tutor a BLS monster,a dn return 3 banished cards back to the GY. This is big as you can then reuse those monster for extra Chaos special summons. You can also get your ritual spell back.
– [0:46:14] Duelist Challenges
- Reinforce Truth: This card is much worse in Duel Links, as you don’t get Main Phase 2. There are probably better ways to special summon specific monsters from the deck, via self archetype effects.
– [0:46:48] Ranked Duel Rewards
- Coordius the Triphasic Dealmon: Another powerful card with extremely difficult summoning conditions. Requiring a Synchro, Xyz, and Link is a tough thing to pull off, unless you’re using the Limited 1 Super Polymerization. Even if summoned, this card is hard to utilize in Duel Links without LP gain, as you’ll only have 1 effect activated. Much better in another format, but rarely sees play given the difficult summoning conditions.
