– [0:13:08] Duelist Kingdom
- Skilled Brown Magician: This card is a hybrid of Spell Counters and Kuriboh. You’ve got a level 4 magician with Kuriboh stats. Remove a counter to gain 1500 attack and 1 level, or tutor some Kuriboh card from the deck or GY. This could be a consideration for Pendulum Magicians that interact with counters, not really sure how useful the Kuriboh synergy is, outside of stall decks. Very niche card that combines two things that don’t work together really. If anything you can use this in Rank 5 Xyz, as it can easily become level 5.
- Mimicking Man-Eater Bug: Fully retrained Man-Eater Bug. Unlike the original this doesn’t get destroyed by battle, so you can activate the flip effect with ease. This card steals attack and becomes the destroyed monster’s type, and then cannot be destroyed by effect from those monster types. This is a nice little flip card but not the strongest in this phase of the game. Flip synergy decks like Geargia and Subterranean could use this. Also any of those decks that run stuff like Sentry Guard or whatever.
– [0:18:26] Ranked Duels Update
- Avida, Rebuilder of Worlds: This is a reset type card, sending all cards in field/GY/banish back to the decks. However, it is nearly impossible to summon as you’ll need 8 Link monsters in the GY or field combined. Powerful, but impossible to summon.
- Nekogal #2: Adding to the madness of Beast-Warriors in Rush Duels is this 1-tribute 1900/2000. Those are chunky stats with the added defense, and could work with Trike Fox, being able to attack. Not bad at all.
- Beast Gear King Convoy Liogon: This is the boss monster for this Beast Gear archetype. This sacrifices 2 monsters, gaining 800 attack max, meaning this could be a 3100. This attacks everyone in attack, and can attack all monsters. This is a bit like Dragias, making this archetype have some promise.
- Beast Gear Gyro Jackal: This one has worse stats than the Buggy Dog, but again a Beast-Warrior.
– [0:23:40] Card Trader Update
- Beast Gear Emperor Catapult Kong: Trike Fox would make lower level monsters unable to attack, so this card can sacrifice those cards to destroy defense position monsters on your opponent’s board. This not the strongest group of cards, but there definitely is synergy and board control ability.
- Beast Gear Moto Wolf: This card is a little better for stats, a level 4 1400 Beast-Warrior.
- Beast Gear Trike Fox (Limited 3): This card allows you to special summon Emperor Catapult Kong, situationally if your opponent has a full board of monsters. You want a tribute summon as well, as lower level monsters can’t attack with this effect.
- Beast Gear Buggy Dog: If there’s anything you know in Rush Duels, is that stats aren’t everything. This is 4-star 1200, which is below average, but you play this for Beast-Warrior typing and Fire attribute. This probably will see play in some Rush deck.
– [0:28:25] Bundle Cards
- Emergency Teleport (Limited 1): This is almost a staple for Psychic decks, allowing you to summon a level 3 or lower from the deck. Right now, the top Psychic deck in Duel Links is Kozmo, which it is a staple in. When P.U.N.K. gets in Duel Links, this card will serve useful there.
- Evilswarm Ophion: Unlike other Evilswarm Xyz monsters, this requires “lswarm” materials. Very nice lockdown effect, preventing level 5 monsters to be special summoned, which is effective against high level Fusion and Synchro decks. That is just a passive effect as well, which doesn’t involve the Xyz materials. Unfortunately “lswarm” isn’t exactly a viable archetype, as this card is very good.
- Constellar Pleiades: This is a nice generic Rank 5 Xyz for Light attribute decks, who has a quick effect to bounce a card back to the hand. This is a great turn 1 play to counter your opponent’s normal summoned monster. This could work with Cyber Dragons for example.
– [0:34:11] Card Flipper Campaign
- Cairngorgon, Antiluminescent Knight: Generic Rank 4 Xyz that focuses on targets. On any single target effect, you can use this to make the target go somewhere else. This is useful as it can go both ways. However, is this better than other Generic Rank 4 Xyz? I don’t think this effect is impactful enough to run, but it definitely has its uses.
